Roscoe Joseph

Roscoe Joseph, 81, of LaPorte, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022. 

 

Roscoe was born on November 23, 1940, in Huesyville, KY, to Roscoe and Josephine (Wireman) Joseph.

 

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, MaryEllen; his brother, James Joseph (Maria) of Gallatin, Tennessee; his children, Kim Heath (Steve) of Willow Park, TX, Scott Joseph (MT) of Rochester, Minnesota, Mike Joseph of LaPorte, and Steve Joseph (Heather) of Dayton, Wyoming and LaPorte.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Zachary Joseph, Katelyn Loyer (Aurelien), Justin Heath (Kelsey), Emily Joseph, Anna Joseph, Pierre Joseph, Hannah Joseph, Cara Joseph, Jacob Joseph; one great grandchild, Josephine Loyer; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a brother. 

 

Roscoe served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1960 as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne.  He was a pipefitter/welder for forty-two years and retired from Local 597 in 2002.

 

He was a member of Beechwood Men’s Club and Phi Delta Kappa.  He attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church. 

 

Roscoe enjoyed golfing, fishing, Sudoku puzzles, and attending school and sporting events for his grandchildren.  He was always willing to help those in need and was an expert at fixing things. Roscoe had a great sense of humor, even in the last weeks of his life.  He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and neighbors. 

  

A Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2900 Monroe St., LaPorte.  Cremation will follow the service.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. 

 

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the donor’s choice.
