Joseph R. Culvahouse, Jr.

Joseph R. Culvahouse, Jr., 72, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at 2:40 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Northwest Health – La Porte.

 

He was born April 15, 1950, in La Porte, to Joseph Culvahouse, Sr. and Norceda (Rhoda) Dooley.

 

Joseph worked as a machinist for 15 years and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.  Joseph was dearly loved and will be missed.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Beth (Scott) Silcox of Trail Creek and Joleen Marquez of South Carolina; three sisters, Koreen (Brett) Brewer of Indianapolis, Cindy and Tracy of FL, and Arden “Sam” Culvahouse of Michigan City; five grandchildren, Kayla (Chris) Krooswyk, Jacob (Alissa) Culvahouse, Joseph (Janelle) Shingler, Christopher Ruiz and Anthony Miranda; nine great-grandchildren, Naomi, Alaina, Zachary, Amira, Noah, Brayden, Jace, Belamy and Berlyn; one niece, Lizzy Brewer; three nephews, Dennis, John, and Keith Culvahouse; and two great nephews, Brett and Hunter Culvahouse.

 

Preceding in death were his parents; and two brothers, Gary Lee and Jon T. Culvahouse.

 

A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte (219) 362-3100. Visitation and viewing will be from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte immediately following services.
