Leroy Shark Sr., age 70, of La Porte, Indiana, died August 26, 2022 at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.
He was born on September 21, 1951 to the union of Mary Agnes Simmons and Richard Daniel Shark. LeRoy moved to Michigan City at the age of 14 with his aunt and Uncle Odell and Dorothy Simmons who became his loving parents. He attended Michigan City public schools and graduated from Isaac C. Elston in 1970. He was employed at Roller Coater and retired in 2007.
On September 28th, 1985, Leroy married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Cash. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Anthony, one grandchild and one great-grandchild, sister Dollie and one brother Richard. He leaves to mourn his memories his wife, Patricia; his children LeRoy (Eliza), Jamie (James) and Ashante, all of Michigan City, and Airrence Shark, La Porte; brothers & sisters Ruthie (Donnie) Grinder, Las Vegas, Nevada, Tony Shark, Wynn, Arkansas, Henry (Diene),Wynn, Arkansas, Dorothy Shark, Wynn, Arkansas, Eugene (Linda) Simmons, Michigan City, Indiana, O’Neal (Agnes) Simmons, Michigan City, Indiana, Carldell (Laura) Simmons, Corpus Christi, Texas, Christella (Darcell) Potts, La Porte, Indiana, Mackie (Lawrence) Webster, Indianapolis, Indiana, Mark (Vickie) Simmons, Michigan City, Indiana, Steven (Brenda) Simmons, Greensboro, North Carolina, Brian (Amanda) Simmons, Michigan City, Indiana; grandchildren Amy Gerron, Michigan City, Brandon Shark, Michigan City, Brittany Shark, Michigan City, Indiana, India Shark, Hawaii and Dallas Shark, La Porte, Indiana.
Along with watching his favorite shows on TV, LeRoy loved talking for hours on the phone with his two favorite cousins, James Oliver Simmons and Charlotte Shark. While here on earth, LeRoy had one best friend, Donald L. Martin. He leaves a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave, La Porte, where family and friends will gather for a wake and viewing on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The following day, on Saturday, September 3, 2022, visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and a service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., both at Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 123 Helen St., Michigan City, IN. Interment will take place at Swan Lake Cemetery on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 1:30.
