Anna Louise (Fifield) Ginther

Anna Louise (Fifield) Ginther was born November 13, 1935 in Chicago, IL, to Clarence E. Fifield and Amelia (Molly) (Bornhoeft) Fifield both who are now deceased.

 

Upon moving to La Porte, the family joined St. Joseph and Anna attended La Porte High School.

 

Anna had two children, Linda Jo (Bob) Hough and James E. (Mary) Lee, both from her first marriage, and two from her marriage to late husband Edward F. Ginther, Mark E. (Jennifer) Ginther, and Kerry R. (Judy) Ginther. Six step-children, Sherry Connett (deceased), Mary Ginther, Debbie Bozak (deceased), Edward V. (LaShounda) Ginther, Lucy (Ron) Cox, and Louise Perkins. She also had 27 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In addition, she had two deceased grandchildren and one deceased great-grandchild.

 

Anna was part of the First Christian Church in La Porte for many years.  She retired from the American Red Cross, but continued to volunteer at blood mobiles.  She enjoyed her church groups, sewing, reading and crocheting.  She was a long-time member of the Moose Lodge and obtained her College of Regents through the Moose.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 83. Anna loved animals and going to school activities for her children and grandchildren.

 

Before her illness she had season tickets to La Porte Slicer games and attended all home events for many years

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at 1:00. 

 

In Lieu of flowers please donate to American Legion Auxiliary Unit 83, American Red Cross or to the local Moose.
