Carol Lou Arndt, 89, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

 

Carol was born February 3, 1933, in La Porte, Indiana to the late Judd and Dorothy (Cockrell) Garrison.

 

On September 1, 1951 Carol married George P. Arndt Jr. who preceded her in death on February 4, 2012.

 

Carol retired from La Porte Community Schools where she was a school bus driver for disabled children. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in La Porte. Carol also was an avid ice and regular fisherman, loved gardening, was known as the Teddy Bear Lady, and she rode a motorcycle.

 

Carol is survived by a daughter, Lorna Sloane of La Porte, Indiana; and a son, Kirt Allan Arndt of La Porte, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; a son, Don L. Arndt; three sisters, Winifred Bennit, Dorothy Cook, and Dianne Hill; and two brothers, Bill Garrison and Sonny Garrison.

 

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Lake Cemetery.
