Daisy "Pauline" Clowers

Daisy "Pauline" Clowers, 87, of New Carlisle, passed away peacefully at 3:19 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Hamilton Grove, New Carlisle.

 

She was born June 3, 1934, in Harriman, Tennessee, to William F. and Tennie Bell (Stegall) McGaha.

 

Pauline was a member of the Fish Lake Church and former member of the La Porte Assembly of God where at both she taught Sunday school. She formerly was an active volunteer, volunteering at Countryside and Fountainview Nursing Homes in La Porte. Her and her friends, Lori and Wayne would visit the homes as well and perform for the residents, singing and playing guitar. She was a talented song writer, guitar player, and writer, writing her own book called, Death Comes to Visit. Pauline loved to sing, You Are My Sunshine, to the ones she loved and knew. She was deeply loved by everyone and she loved everyone back. Pauline was a homemaker who deeply cared for her family. Most of the grandchildren will remember and cherish the times they spent with her especially baking cookies together.

 

On November 2, 1952, in La Porte, Indiana, Pauline married Convie Sammie Clowers, who survives.

 

Also surviving are her four children, Marilyn (Pete) Bealor of La Porte, Sammie Clowers of New Carlisle, Dale (Eufemia) Clowers and Betty (Gary) Huston both of La Porte; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 34 great-great grandchildren; and special nieces, Jackie Murname, Rhonda Leffew, Patty Leffew, Karen Wood, Joy Whitney, and Vivian Lehman.

 

Preceding in death were her parents; three sisters, Ruby, Evelyn, and Betty; five brothers, Garrett, Clarence, George, Red, and Fletcher; and two granddaughters, Pauline Kay Bealor and Betty Annette Armstrong

 

A funeral celebrating her life will be held at 12 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2022 at Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100. Visitation and viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana.
