Juan F. "Poncho" Valdes, 61, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 10:42 am in Michigan City.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN with  Rev. David Kime officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN, and from 9:15 am - 10:00 am Tuesday the Queen of All Saints Catholic Church Legacy Center. 

  

He was born January 16, 1961 in Totatiche, Mexico to the late Salvador and Maclovia (Covarrubias) Valdes. In 2004 he married Irma Godoy who survives in Michigan City, IN.

 

Also surviving are his son, Tyrner Valdes of Michigan City, IN; two daughters, Paloma Valdes and Alondra Valdes, borth of Michigan City, IN; four sisters, Maria de la Luz (Luis ) Arteaga, Esperanza (Armando) Quezada, Elvira (Engelberto) Arteaga and Alicia (Ramon) Calderon; six brothers, Rosendo (Myra) Valdez, Adalberto (Luz) Valdez, Lamberto (Sheri) Valdez, Rodrigo (Candelaria) Valdez, Antonio (Elvia) Valdes and Rogelio (Irasema) Valdes.

 

Juan was the owner/operator of Super C Concessions. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and operating his business. Juan was a hard worker who always kept busy and he loved his family.
