Mark Stephen White, 67, of La Porte, passed away unexpectedly at 7:28 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Northwest Health-La Porte.

 

He was born June 6, 1954, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Lawrence White and Jean (Spohn) Dyer.

 

Mark worked as a programmer in the steel industry and was a former chair member of Ducks Unlimited of Michigan City.  He was also a member of the NRA and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.  Mark was an avid guitar player, enjoyed 3-D printing, hunting, and motorcycles. 

 

On October 29, 2009, in La Porte, Indiana, he married Camie (Lansberg) Edson-White, who survives.

 

Also surviving are one son, Brian White; one daughter, Tiffany White; two stepsons, Eric (Kristen) Edson and Nathan (Brandy) Edson; one stepdaughter, Lindsey Elderkin; one daughter-in-law, Nicolette White; and eleven grandchildren, Brad, Taylor, Mark III, Caz, Louisa, Charlotte, Annabelle, Matilda, Ashley, Anna, and Matthew.

 

Preceding in death were his parents; one son, Mark White Jr.; one daughter, Annie White; three brothers, Matthew Steinman, Billy Dyer, and David Dyer; and one sister, Tina Gipson.

 

A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte (219) 362-3100 with Rev. James Ferguson officiating.  Visitation and viewing will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
