Mabel Fay Jackson, 77, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Northwest Health - La Porte.

 

Mabel was born on July 17, 1944 in South Bend, IN, to Harmon John and Bertha (Weigle) Jackson.

 

Mabel is survived by her sisters, Madelyn Jackson of La Porte, IN, Martha (Larry) Gillen of Puyallup, WA, Becky Groll of Buckeye, AZ, and Tina (Pete) Reed of St. Augustine, FL; many nieces and nephews; and bonus son, Timothy Bower.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harmon and Bertha Jackson; brother, Roger Rosebush; and brother-in-law, Karl Groll.

 

Mabel was a laborer for many years at American Home Foods.  She also provided childcare, which is where she created a lasting bond with her bonus son, Timothy.  Mabel enjoyed eating out and spending time with family, friends, and neighbors.

 

A Graveside Service will held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Patton Cemetery.
