Roger L. Milzarek, 75, La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at 4:20 pm surrounded by his family.

 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, May 12, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 818 Franklin St., Michigan City, IN with  Pastor Mark Reshan officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.    

 

He was born August 13, 1946 in Michigan City, IN to the late Lawrence and Louise (George) Milzarek. On April 8, 1972 in Michigan City, IN he married Norma Kriesel who survives in La Porte, IN.

 

Also surviving are his daughter, Shari Milzarek of Charlotte, NC; son, Terry (Kristi) Milzarek of Franklin, TN; two grandchildren, Austin and Maddison Milzarek; and two brothers, Donald (Delores) Milzarek of South Bend, IN, Wayne (Shirley) Milzarek of Bartlett, TN.

 

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Milzarek.   

 

Roger retired after 36 years as a station operator at NIPSCO. He also was a basketball official for 25 years and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Roger was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved animals, especially his dogs. The family request if you able to please donate blood to honor his memory.
