Katherine Rose Kinsey, 75, of La Porte, passed away at 12:15 a.m., Friday, April 22, 2022.
She was born May 3, 1946, in La Porte, Indiana, to Roger and Mary Elizabeth (Graf) Powers.
Katherine was a graduate of Saint Mary of the Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was a parishioner, reader, and a catechism teacher at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Porte. Katherine also taught elementary education at Park School and ISTEP remediation at La Porte High School.
Her husband, Darrell Kinsey died on September 17, 2007.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; Roger and Mary Elizabeth Powers
Surviving is her son, Kevin (Karley) Kinsey of Sacramento, CA and their son, Garen; her brother, Roger (Sue) Powers; and sister, Mary Gragido.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 Bach St., La Porte, with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of mass Saturday at the church. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
