Betty Louise Atwood, 89, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Northwest Health La Porte.

 

She called La Porte home for over 68 years, born in Toledo, IL and raised in Emily, MN, where she met her husband.  Betty enjoyed cooking and baking original recipes for her family.  She was an avid reader and kept busy by crafting holiday ornaments, afghans, doilies, and cross-stitching.  Betty loved playing card games with her grandchildren while spoiling them with copious amounts of Kool-Aid and baked goods.  Her lifelong “can-do” attitude will be missed.

 

Surviving is her husband of 71 years, Everett Atwood Sr, along with daughter, Madalyn Belzowski; sons, Everett Atwood Jr & Alan Atwood; 6 grandchildren, Marla Belzowski, Valerie Lester, Anissa Haack, Jason Atwood, Brian Atwood & Samuel Atwood; 12 great-grandchildren, and brothers Bob & Frank Bennett.  Preceding her in death was a son, Leslie Atwood.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will hold private services.
