Cindy Lee (Garus) Khan, 54, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Sunday, March 26, 2022.

 

She was born on November 24, 1967, in Gary, Indiana to Ernest Garus of Valparaiso and the late Donna Ellis. 

 

Cindy had worked as a Home Health Aid with Help at Home of La Porte. 

 

She is survived by her children, Joshua Garus of La Porte, Michael Ortiz of La Porte, Jennessa Ortiz of La Porte, Constance Himo of La Porte, and Cannon Breneman of La Porte; grandchildren, Aayden J. Ramirez, Destiney Ramirez, Nevaeh Ramirez, Ayaleena Ramirez, Eli Ramirez, Anisty Ortiz, Gabriel Ortiz, Payton Garus, Ayaan Mannan, and Emerie Ortiz-Kang. She is also survived by her father, Ernest Garus; and siblings, Susie Koby and Tiger Koby.

 

She was preceded in death by her mother, and a granddaughter, Esalita Ortiz, and siblings, Scott and Dave Koby.

 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
