Charles E. Bunch

Charles E. Bunch, 70, of Kingsbury, IN., loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, departed from this life on March 28, 2022.

 

He was born March 1, 1952 in La Porte, Indiana to Evan and Eula (Bundy) Bunch.

Charles fought his short bout with cancer at home with his loving family by his side. Chuck, as he was better known, was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and served his country in Vietnam. He worked at Allis Chalmers for many years then at Aero Metal in La Porte. Chuck enjoyed bicycling, exercising and taking long walks with his best buddy, Chance, his spaniel. The last few years, he built a birdhouse for each of his seven siblings, children, and grandchildren which are cherished by all.

 

He met the love of his life at the age of fifteen and they shared 53 loving years of marriage together. On July 19, 1969, in La Porte, Indiana, he married Nancy Ann (Johnson) Bunch, who survives.

 

Also surviving son Rob (June) Bunch; sisters, Patsy (Max) Watson, Janice (Dave) Levenhagen, and Rhonda (Joe) Wagner; brothers, Gary (Denise) Bunch, Terry (Johnnie) Bunch, and Jeff (Susan) Bunch; son in-law, Pat Drangmeister. brother and sister in-law, Dennis and Rose Johnson; Chuck also leaves behind his loving grandchildren who were so much a part of his life. They are Pat (Norma) Drangmeister, Matt (Patty) Drangmeister, Dale (aka Cubby) Lovekin, and Kiel (Silvia) Lovekin; special granddaughter who was by his side, Meghan (Jake) Stowe; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dawn Drangmeister; and brother, Michael Bunch.

 

Cremation will take place. A celebration of life will be held for family at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
