J. Frances Comer

J. Frances Comer went home to be with our Lord on March 23, 2022 at the age of 87.

 

She was born August 16,1934 in Earle, Arkansas, to William F. and Margaret V. (Sprawls) Robertson.

 

Frances was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church and had a lifelong interest in Bible study. She spent many years studying with and supporting radio and TV ministries. Frances enjoyed gardening and caring for stray cats and their kittens, crafting at the Michigan City Senior Center, visits to Lake Michigan beaches, especially climbing Mount Baldy with her children and grandchildren. She was a great southern cook and loved cooking for her family. Frances was a diligent worker in and out of the home. She was a tool room attendant at Bethlehem Steel and later provided in-home elder care and housekeeping services for many local families.

 

She is survived by her daughters, Linda K. Doane and Katherine E. (Doane) Bauer;

grandchildren, Sarah J. Heying, Ben M. Kaminski and Brett A. (Sara) Bauer; great

grandson, Blake A. Bauer; brother, Charles A. Robertson; sister, Mary C. (Robertson) Thornton, and former husbands, J. E. Doane, and Eugene Comer.

 

Preceding in death her parents; siblings, William B. Robertson, Marie M. (Robertson) Davis, Mildred V. (Robertson) Sharpe, James J. Robertson, Mable A. Robertson, and Thomas A. Robertson; Grandson, Derek J. See; and former husband, Samuel G. Ambrose Jr.

 

Cremation will take place. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2022 at New Creation Vineyard Church, 9009 W. Pahs Rd., Michigan City, Indiana.
