Gerald W. Ritchie, 82, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022 at 12:45 pm in his home.

 

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, March 28, 2022, at Heckman Cemetery, Hesston, IN. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.    

 

He was born December 21, 1939 in Michigan City, IN to the late Loren and Ramona (Timm) Ritchie. On March 18, 1961 he married Judith Liedtke who preceded him on November 24, 2021.

 

Surviving are five daughters, Jamie (Wilson) Sulivan of Hobart, IN, Julie (David) Cunningham of The Pines, IN, Susanne (Arthur) Mullins of La Porte, IN, Lorie Chambers of Michigan City, IN and Beth Ritchie of Michigan City, IN; two sons, Michael Ritchie and Brett (Tara) Ritchie, both of Michigan City, IN; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jackie Frymier of La Porte, IN; and Charlene (Dan) Urbanski of Michigan City, IN.

 

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Lornadell Koch, Marilyn Ragon, and Barbara Ramsey; and three brothers, Donald, Richard, and John Ritchie.   

Gerald had worked as a machinist and was a U.S Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed the sweeter things in life.
