Jeffrey McCarty, 55, of La Porte, passed away, surrounded by his wife and family, on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Northwest Health - Porter.
Jeff was born on October 28, 1966, in Knox, IN, to Oscar McCarty and Mary Lou (Goble) Mullins.
On August 18, 1990, in La Porte, he married Tia Reshell Bruton who survives. Also surviving are his children, Hannah and Parker McCarty both of La Porte; siblings, Donald McCarty of Westville, Leon (Shari) Mullins of La Porte, Amy (Mike) Harness of Watford City, ND, Doug (Cathy) McCarty of Knox, Jenny (Sherman) Back of Lebanon, TN, and Jeff (Gwen) Hodson of Winfield; mother-in-law, Linda Bruton of La Porte; sister-in-law, Sandy Wireman of La Porte; 14 nieces and nephews, Derek Olson of Michigan City, Donny McCarty of Westville, Ellissa (Steven Jr.) Tobey of Culver, April McCarty of South Bend, Luc McCarty of La Porte, Julia Smith of Watford City, ND, Ethan Morris of Watford City, ND, Hayley McCarty of Knox, Cameron McCarty of Knox, Ryker McCarty of Knox, Carson McCarty of Knox, Alyssa Back of Lebanon, TN, Molly Back of Lebanon, TN, and Emma Back of Lebanon, TN; 3 great nieces Juniper, Malia, and Harlee; and goddaughter Alena McMillan of Floyd Knobbs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Belinda Marie Mullins.
Jeffrey was a pizza delivery driver at Aurelio's Pizza and a courtesy driver for Bosak Honda. He was an avid Cubs fan and loved to spend time with his children. Jeffrey was a member of the Christ Gospel Church of La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Christ Gospel Church of La Porte, 1539 SR 39 S, La Porte, IN with Brother Ricky Bray officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Christ Gospel Church of La Porte and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
Memorial donations may be made towards the college fund of Jeffrey's children, Hannah and Parker, in c/o Tia McCarty, 2900 Monroe St., La Porte, IN 46350.
