Dylan A. Shinn

Dylan A. Shinn, 22, Michiana Shores, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, in his home.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN and from 9:00 am - 10:00 am Thursday at the Notre Dame Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1010 Moore Road, Long Beach, IN with Rev. Keith McClellan officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. 

 

He was born February 7, 2000, in La Porte, IN.

 

Surviving are his father, David (Julia Pliskey) Shinn of Michiana Shores; mother, Amy (Rod Bensz) Pliske-Shinn of Michigan City, IN; three sisters, Amber Collins of Eldon, IA, Olivia Shinn of Michigan City, IN and Madelyn Shinn of Michigan City, IN; grandparents, Richard Pliske of Michiana Shores, IN and Georgiana Shinn of Long Beach, IN; aunts and uncles, Edwin Shinn, Joe and Debbie Shinn, Paul and Gretchen Shinn, Jane and Larry Wall and Megan and J.T. Thomas; and his beloved pet cat, Tom.

 

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Tina Pliske and Allan Shinn; and his uncle, Christopher Pliske.

 

Dylan worked in construction and was a student at Purdue University.  He was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church. Dylan enjoyed baseball, fishing, investing, and had a green thumb, and was passionate about politics. He was also a very spiritual person.
