Patricia Ann Barnes, 10/10/1943 – 2/20/2022, 78, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at 4:50 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Northwest Health La Porte.
She was born on October 10, 1943 in Michigan City, Indiana, to Walter Ray and Helen Ruth Morlan, Sr.
Patricia formerly attended Faith City Assembly of God in Michigan City. In 2015, she moved to La Porte and enjoyed the gatherings and playing bingo with the residents at her new home, The Rumely Historical Apartments. She also enjoyed going for ice cream, watching her favorite game shows and coloring adult coloring books. Patricia loved her children. As a single mother with disabilities, she cared for them well and always put them first. To her children, she was more than just a mother, she was everything and will be sorely missed by them. Patricia had a fun personality and loved being goofy and taking pictures with silly faces using snap chat with her grandchildren, who she loved dearly.
On October 20, 2007, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married Dale E. Barnes, who preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; and four siblings, Wanda Deherrera, Helen Harris, Kenneth Morlan, Sr. and James Morlan Sr.
She is survived by her four children, Tina (Brian) Thorp of La Porte, Diane (Scott) Davis of Fredericksburg, VA, Steve (Sandy) Kinney of Roaring Springs, PA, and Philip Morlan of Indiana; three brothers, Walter Ray Morlan, Jr. of Michigan City, Ronald (Linda) Morlan of Channahon, IL, and David (Theresa) Morlan of Michigan City; one sister, Cathy Poteet of Michigan City; and seven grandchildren, John and Brianna Thorp, Jacob and Caleb Davis, Sarah (Ted) Alvis, Cherean (Josh) Hollows, and Camry Kinney.
Cremation will take place. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
