Calvin Crawford Kesling

Calvin Crawford Kesling, was born on August 29, 1990, in Michigan City, IN. and passed away on Feb. 19, 2022, in Bakersfield, CA.

 

Beloved son of Andrew Kesling and Dorothy (Rogers) Kesling-Rosenblum; adored brother of Katie Kesling-Smith (Troy), and William Kesling (partner Julia); and his late sister Lindsey Kesling; cherished grandson of Dr. Peter and Charlene Kesling of La Porte, and the late James and Jean Rogers of Owensboro, Ky.; loving uncle to Langley Smith and Story Smith; dear nephew of Diane Rogers Abbinanti (Sam) of Marina Del Ray, CA., Nancy Rogers Pelletier (Gaetan) of Vista, CA., Jo Rogers Barron (Bill) of Owensboro, Ky., Sue Rogers Tagmyer (Bob) of Denver, CO., and Toni Rogers Smith (Paul). Also, dear nephew of Chris (Tami) Kesling of La Porte and the late Emily and Adam Kesling of New Buffalo, MI. Loved and adored by many cousins and countless friends, and his faithful and adoring feline companion, Rolex.

 

Calvin was a graduate of LaLumiere High School, attended Xavier College and DePaul University (BS). He excelled on and off the field. Calvin’s stealth-like focus in soccer and golf took him to #1. His academic accomplishments were exemplary…earning himself a leadership scholarship along with several other accolades. He offered up his spring breaks for two years to go help others in need, Nicaragua is one…. “His compassion was off the charts”.Calvin loved children and animals, his charisma and humor were magnetic, attracting everyone he encountered. He had an insatiable thirst for the thrill of adventure, sports, fast cars, fitness, music and to make people laugh. He is mostly thought of by his family and countless friends for his determination to persevere; live large and most of all, his infectious personality. Calvin had recently moved to CA to work for a solar company.

 

Visitation for Calvin will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 12-2.30 p.m. EDT and the service immediately follows from 3-4 p.m. EDT at the Water’s Edge United Methodist Church, 18732 Harbor Country Dr., New Buffalo, MI., with Pastor Nate Loucks and Pastor Roscoe Hoffman officiating.
