Imogene Friend, 92, of La Porte, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Fountainview Terrace - La Porte.

 

Imogene was born on January 16, 1930 in Harrisburg, AR, to Elmer and Lillie (Osborn) Stevens.

 

On October 4, 1947 in Harrisburg, Arkansas, she married Albert E. who proceeded her in death.  Also surviving are her children, Billy Ray (Linda) Friend of North Liberty, Robert Earl (Bonnie) Friend of La Porte, and Diania (Jobie) Franks of Mill Creek; 4 grandchildren, Chad Friend, Christopher Friend, Brent (Kellie) Friend, and Carly (Brian) Thornton; 2 sisters, Shirley (Paul) Grant of Fort Myers, FL and Brenda Kay (Ron) Sherer of Kingsford Heights; 2 brothers, Elmer Stevens, Jr. of La Porte and Jerry Stevens of Fish Lake; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded by her parents; husband; sister, Louise Methany, and 5 brothers.

 

Imogene was the business owner of IMA Rerod, a business that straightened reinforcement rods.  She retired in 1993.  Her favorite past times included gardening and tending to her flower beds.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor John White officiating.  Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
