Sharon Kay Heirbrandt, March 11, 1944-February 15, 2022, 77, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Settlers Place in La Porte, IN. with her family by her side. 

 

She was born March 11, 1944, in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of George Shepherd and Beulah (Bentley) Shepherd. 

 

Sharon led a life of many adventures and passions. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Loren on many trips through the pool industry and made life-long friends from those trips. She liked gardening and loved to visit the casinos to play the slot machines. Through it all Sharon's true passion was her love for her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She managed to always find time to spend with them.  

 

On November 2, 1963, in Mill Creek, IN, she married Loren Dean Heirbrandt who preceded her in death. 

 

She is survived by her two daughters, Michele Pugh of South Bend, IN, Lori (Scott) Gerken of Sarasota, FL; five grandsons, Ardy Creed, and his girlfriend Diamond, Adam (Amy) Creed, Aaron Oaks, Austin Oaks, and Carter Pugh and his fiance’ Trinidy; sister, Faye (Bill) Smith; brother, Ray (Marlene) Shepherd; five great-grandchildren, Ellie Creed, Owen Creed, Braydon Oaks, Destiny Oaks, and Cayden Oaks.  

 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sula Combs, brother, Nick Shepherd. 

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, February 19 from 4 pm until 6 pm.  A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home on Sunday, February 20 at 1 PM, with Pastor Kurt Feneley officiating.  Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
