Lorene Beaty, 81, of Kingsford Heights, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Franciscan Health Michigan City.

 

Lorene was born on July 14, 1940 in Bacon, IN, to Thomas and Georgia (Blevins) Strother.

 

On December 11, 1957  in Paoli, IN, she married Dwight, who survives.  Also surviving are her children, Dwight (Dawn) C. Beaty, Jr. of Westfield and Rita (Denis) Beaty of Tracy; 4 grandchildren, Brian Frank of Valparaiso, Trisha Beaty of Indianapolis, Heather (Michael) Wakeman of North Liberty, and Tracy (Mark) Williamson of Westfield; 6 great-grandchildren, Piper, Atticus, Paige, Ja'neyaih, Athena, and Clayton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Howard, Charlie, Everett, Leo, Luther, Bertha, and Mary.

 

Lorene was a caregiver for many years at Real Services.  She enjoyed fishing and visiting area nursing homes, dressed as a clown.  Lorene was a people person, who never met a stranger, often drawing people to her simply because of her beautiful southern drawl.   She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Lorene also loved her church family. 

 

A time of visitation will be held from 4 -7 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. 

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Burial will follow at Tracy Cemetery.
