Karen Yeakey

Karen Yeakey, March 26, 1941 - February 4, 2022, 80, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at 5:28 pm in her home.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with  Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, Wednesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.    

 

She was born March 26, 1941 in Michigan City, IN to the late Chester and Victoria (Marciniak) Tatarski. In Michigan City, IN she married Donald Yeakey who survives in Michigan City, IN.

 

Also surviving are a daughter, Kathi (Jay) Davis of Michigan City, IN; son, John (Colette) Yeakey of Culver, IN; six grandchildren, Amanda (Mat) Retseck, Jamie (Adam) Kemmerer, Jessica Yeakey, Ashley Oliver, Barry Oliver, Tyler Itzoe; six great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Ted Itzoe of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three brothers, Paul (Theresa) Hack of New Buffalo, MI, Chester J. (Elizabeth) Tatarski Jr. of Summerville, SC and Thomas (Klaudia) Tatarski of Michigan City, IN; special-friend, Marie Przybylinski.

 

She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Marie Itzoe; three sisters, Victoria "Minnie" Kopta, Dorothy Bobis and Katherine Powalski; two brothers, Anthony Hack and Frank Hack; and her grandchild, Jason Oliver.  

 

Karen enjoyed swimming, gardening, walking, taking care of people and being with her family.
