Larry Owen Calvert Sr, July 11, 1949-January 30, 2022,  72, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday January 30, 2022 at Northwest Health - La Porte

 

He was born July 11, 1949 in Evansville IN, the son of Clyde and Dorothy (Wilkerson) Wyrick.

 

A lifelong resident of the area, Larry worked as a self-employed mechanic before retirement. He had many interests, including playing old country songs on the guitar, watching westerns on TV, fishing and cruising around the lake in his car. He was a classic Camaro fan, especially his daughter's 1968 red one. Larry loved his dogs, Princess and Abby but his pride and joy were his grandchildren.

 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Rhonda Calvert; his sister, Doris Wyrick.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Calvert of La Porte; son, Larry (Christine Griffin) Calvert, Jr of La Porte; daughter, Sherry (Chris) McQuarters of N. Judson; brothers, Jerry (Libby) Wyrick of Clarksville, IL, Gary (LeeAnn) Wyrick of Mishaka, IN; sister Brenda (Terry) Vincent of South Bend, IN; 3 grandchildren, Garrett Calvert, Dustin (Alexis) McQuarters, Ashlee McQuarters and 3 great-grandchildren, Chesney, Makinley and Brentlee.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN.  Cremation has been selected.
