David L. Johnson, 63, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at 2:29 pm in Franciscan Health - Michigan City.

 

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN.    

 

He was born June 10, 1958 in Michigan City, IN. 

 

Surviving are his wife, Deborah Johnson of Michigan City, IN; mother, Gertrude Kayser of La Porte, IN; daughter, April Johnson of La Porte, IN; step-son, Aaron Adrian of Michigan City, IN; two grandchildren, Krysta and Tristin; great-grandchild, Coraline; three sisters, Carol Nowatzke of Rolling Prairie, IN, Julie Johnson of Scottsville, KY and Erika Kayser of Michigan City, IN; brother, Wayne Johnson of Rolling Prairie, IN; and step-brother, Randy Kayser of Michigan City, IN.

 

He was preceded in death by father, Clarence Johnson.   

 

David loved his job as a train conductor at NICTD where he worked for 14 years. He also owned D & D Pets with his wife for 15 years. David graduated from Elston High School and enjoyed bowling, Miller Lite Beer, his Great Dane dogs, and playing Phase Ten card game. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and was very proud to have raised his daughter, April.
