Betty Joan (Gray) Wright

Betty Joan (Gray) Wright, 95, of LaPorte passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 14, 1926 in Bellmont, IL, to John Raymond and Leona Irene (Gray) Gray.

On July 2, 1947, in Philadelphia, she married Jack Charles Wright, who preceded her in death.  Betty and Jack loved to spend time road-tripping all over the US.  They spent many summers in Estes Park, CO at the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Growing up Betty helped raise her little sister and take care of her dad and older sister after her mother passed away.  Betty loved to cook, travel (especially to Rocky Mountain National Park), watch old Westerns, and spend time with her daughters, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Wright of LaPorte and Kathy Vorm of North Judson, IN; three granddaughters Erika (James) Johnston, Kirsten (Andrew) Martin, and Alyse (Zach) Albers; 9 great-grandchildren Delaney, Reese, Lindley, Avaree, Emaree, Cadence, Brody, Corinne, and Ashton; two sisters Mary Biesieda of Chicago Heights, IL and June (Norbert) Biernat of Milwaukee, WI; and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, baby brother, half brother, stepmother, brother-in-law, and nephews.

Betty will be lovingly remembered to all that knew her as the most kind-hearted, funny, caring gal around.

There will be no services or visitation.  Once cremation is complete, the cremated remains of she and Jack will be spread together resting in peace eternally.
