Robert John Jurkowski, 85, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana passed away Monday, January 17, 2022.

 

Robert was born on May 17, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Stanley and Mary (Szawica) Jurkowski.

 

On October 15, 1960, Robert married Charlotte Stayback who preceded him in death on July 25, 2004.

 

Robert was the head of the payroll department at AM General. He was previously with Allis-Chalmers where he was the very last employee with the company. He was a member of St. John Kanty Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, the St. John Kanty Cemetery Board, and former Kankakee Township Trustee.

 

Robert is survived by three daughters, Teresa Stacy of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, Lisa Jurkowski of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, and Patricia Jurkowski of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; three sons, Anthony (Tammy) Jurkowski of Hamlet, Indiana, James (Debbie) Jurkowski of New Carlisle, Indiana, and John (Raelene) Jurkowski of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; 15 grandchildren, Jeremy Stacy, Jessica Stacy, Joshua Jurkowski, Broc Jurkowski, Cole Jurkowski, Lexie Jurkowski, Lexi Jurkowski, Courtney Jurkowski, Brandon Dickson, Brandy Garland, Scott Dickson, and Kandi Olling Jurkowski, Katlin Garis, Sammie Lestinsky, and Paige Lestinsky; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sister Rosemary Jurkowski PHJC, of Donaldson, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Bernie, Eddie, and Al Jurkowski; and son-in-law, Paul Stacy.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, La Porte, Indiana.  

 

A private Mass of Christian Burial and burial at St. John Kanty Cemetery will take place.
