John Aaron Bello

John Aaron Bello, 68, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Franciscan Health, Michigan City.

 

John was born on December 6, 1953, in Clinton, IN, to Nicholas A. and Miriam M. (Deeds) Bello.

 

On August 15, 1973, in Bridgman, MI, he married Donna K. Eigenmann, who survives.  Also surviving are his sons, Kelly (Annelise) Bello of New Carlisle and Nicholas (Corinda) Bello of La Porte; 5 grandchildren, Jordan (Kenny) Parks of South Bend, Aaron Bello of New Carlisle, and Riley, Reid and Rachel Bello all of La Porte; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Nikki (John) Zolman of La Porte; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

John proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.

 

John was an Electronics Technician with the Federal Aviation Administration and retired after 38 years of service.  He also served on the La Porte City Police Reserves for 25 years.  He mentored and taught Tae Kwon Do for many years. 

 

John had a passion for music and theatre.  He participated in many productions at the La Porte Little Theatre Club.  John was a Hoosier Star Finalist and also sang various times with the La Porte County Symphony.  He even had his own band during his military career.

 

John was a kind man with a big heart and a great sense of humor.  He gave the best "bear hugs".  John was well respected and a natural leader in everything he did.  He was a true "Mister Fix-It".  His family holds very dear memories of John, but mostly how well he loved them.

 

A Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Cremation will follow the service.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. 

 

Memorial donations may be made to the La Porte Little Theatre, 218 A. Street, La Porte, IN 46350 or to the donor's choice.
