Larry Leigh Heimer, Jr., 63, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Northwest Health - La Porte.

 

Larry was born on August 5, 1958 in La Porte, IN, to Larry and Elsie (Collings) Heimer.

 

On September 7, 2020 in Nashville, IN, he married Tami Lynn Mathis who survives.  Also surviving are his daughter, Nichole Alvarez of Walkerton; and 4 grandchildren, Ivan, Kraig, Gabe, and Lily.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Elsie Heimer.

 

Larry was a truck driver for many years at VNR Trucking.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Larry was a long-time ND fan and enjoyed watching ND football.  In his younger years, he even worked seating ND fans.  Larry  also built and raced stock cars at area speedways.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
