Dianne Kay Bunton, 74, of La Porte, passed away peacefully after a brief illness Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Franciscan Health, Michigan City.

 

She was born December 6, 1947, in La Porte, Indiana, to Maurice and Betty (Ardnt) Bridges.

 

Dianne graduated in 1966 from La Porte High School and was a member of ’66 Chicks’. She formerly played softball from age 13 to 45. She was open class superintendent for La Porte County 4H. Dianne loved her dogs, having up to 5 dogs at one time. She enjoyed crafting, vacationing to Hawaii and spending time with her grandson and great-grandchildren. Dianne will be missed dearly by many.

 

On December 6, 1975, in La Porte, Indiana, she married Michael “Mick” J. Bunton, who survives.

 

Also surviving are her daughter, Shelli (Pete) Donaldson of La Porte; one sister, Vicki (James) Easton of La Porte; one grandson, Kiefer (Bekah Saikin) Beghtel of Michigan City; and four great children, Karson, Eleanor, Tyler and Natalie.

 

Preceding in death were her parents, Maurice and Betty Bridges; and great-grandson, Damien Beghtel.

 

A funeral celebrating her life will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd. La Porte, (219) 362-3100 with Pastor Bob Vale officiating. Visitation and viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
