Gregory Marc Foster,  June 4, 1952-December 15, 2021, 69, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family.

 

He was born June 4, 1952 in Michigan City, Indiana, the son of Lloyd Foster and Alice (Strong) Foster.

 

A lifelong resident of the area, Gregory graduated from South Central High School, then proudly joined the Local 81 Labor Union out of Valparaiso. He retired as a Union laborer. Known as a warm and compassionate man, Gregory enjoyed hanging out with friends at several places around town, especially at Ogle's Inn, where he loved playing his favorite tunes on the jukebox. He liked all kinds of music and taking long drives in the country. Gregory enjoyed ice fishing with his son, Jeremy and going to his house to watch Colt's football, while Jeremy grilled out. His special joy, though, was spending time with his grandchildren, who he loved dearly.

 

Gregory is survived by his son, Jeremy (Beth) Foster of La Porte; Jeremy's mother, Sandra (Lonnie) Reger of La Porte; two brothers, Steve Foster of Ocala, FL, Stewart Foster of Ocala, FL; three sisters, Kathy Foster of La Porte, Linda (Babe) Thompkins of Michigan City, IN, Yvonne Foster of New York; two grandchildren, Breanna Foster, Ryan Foster.

 

Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Martin Foster and sisters, Cora, Debbie, and Dawn.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. Cremation will take place.
