Mary F. Conklin, 80, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Monday, December 6, 2021.

 

Mary was born July 29, 1941, in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late David and Adeline (Bushore) Hollett.

 

On October 22, 1960, Mary married Robert D. Conklin who preceded her in death on February 13, 1995.

 

Mary was a school bus driver for Duneland Schools for over 30 years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church in La Porte, Indiana.

 

Mary is survived by a daughter, Kristi (Michael) Dowler of Aurora, Illinois; a son, Donald (Mary) Conklin of La Porte, Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Carmichael of Valparaiso, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Robbie, Brandon, Eric, Sierra, Nick, Ryan, Adam, Paige, and Noah; two great-grandchildren, Emery and Kaia; and a brother, Jerry (Joyce) Sherwood of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a son, Michael Conklin; and a brother, Thomas Sherwood.

 

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2021, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. A funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday following the visitation. Private burial will take place in Chesterton Cemetery, Chesterton, Indiana.
