Kyle J. Blanchard (Services update)

Kyle J. Blanchard, 18, of Rolling Prairie, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at IU Health University Hospital, with his family by his side.

 

Kyle was born on June 30, 2003 in La Porte, IN, to Ronald LeRoy and Karen Lynn (Waltz) Blanchard. 

 

Kyle is survived by his mother, Karen Blanchard; siblings, Cody (Mariah) Oxender, Jon (Grace) Blanchard, Amanda (Jordan) Cooper, Kevin Blanchard, and Austin Blanchard; nieces, Kennedy and Elaina; grandparents, Kenneth and Roxanne Waltz, Susan and Don Bunce, and Toni Sollars; as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald L. Blanchard. 

 

Kyle was a 2021 graduate of New Prairie High School.  He was a 4 year band member, participating in marching band, pep band, concert band, jazz band, backup band, pit band, and indoor percussion.  Although talented in each band, he especially enjoyed jazz band.  Kyle also participated in the worship band at Grace Baptist Church.  He was a fan of the music of Good Kid.  

 

Kyle played NPHS tennis during his Junior and Seniors years.  He also enjoyed swimming, football, and skateboarding.  Kyle is fondly remembered by his brothers, Kevin and Austin, as a Master Lightsaber dualist.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Charles Kim Landrum officiating.  Burial will take place at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Rolling Prairie Cemetery.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.  In true Kyle style, the family requests those attending to wear Hawaiian shirts or Star Wars attire.
