Kernie William Hayman, 78, of Union Mills, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at his home.

 

Kernie was born on December 6, 1942 in Owen County, IN, to William and Martine (Westerfield) Hayman.

 

On August 26, 1961 in Owensboro, KY, he married Patricia Ann Keown, who preceded him in death on October 5, 2021.  Surviving Kernie are his daughters, Angela Fritz and Lisa (Mike) Ludlow of Union Mills, granddaughters, Sarah (Ben) Williams of Knox and Dallas (Shawn Dupree) Nowell of Opp, AL; great-granddaughters, Navy Williams, Gwen Dupree, and Lennon Williams; brother, Jesse (Doris) Hayman of Owensboro, KY; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded by his wife; parents; and brothers, Charlie Hayman and Donald Hayman.

 

Kernie was a Millright at Bethlehem Steel.  He enjoyed deep sea fishing in Costa Rica and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Bob Vale officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Mills Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
