Alejandro "Alex" Corona Cortes,  November 1, 2000-November 27, 2021, 21, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Northwest Health-La Porte.

 

 He was born November 1, 2000 in Galveston, Texas, the son of Jose H. Corona and Imelda Cortes.

 

Alex moved to the La Porte area when he was 4 years old from Texas, graduating from La Porte High School. He worked as a roofer for AA Rain-Tite Roofing, which he really enjoyed.  Alex owned a 2005 Lexus, and loved every minute of owning and driving it. A catholic, he attended church in the Holy Family Parrish, St Joseph.

 

Alex is survived by his parents; his paternal grandfather, Pablo Corona; his maternal grandparents, Avelina Vieyra and Rafael Cortes; four sisters, Yuritzi (Antonio) Villasenor of Porterville, CA, Sandra (Miguel) Corona of Elgin, IL, Oralia (Alex) Villasenor of Elkhart, IN, Cinthya Villasenor, of La Porte; four brothers, David (Janeth) Corona of Carpentersville, IL, Jorge (Brisnely) Villasenor of Sacramento, CA, Javier (Elizabeth) Corona of Elgin, IL, Bryan Corona of La Porte, IN; his girlfriend, Suleima Reyes of La Porte.

 

Alex was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Petra Ambris. 

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends on Friday December 3, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 4 at 11:00 a.m. at St Joseph Catholic Church, La Porte, with Father Nate Edquist, officiating.  Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
