Cinda Ella Searing

Cinda Ella Searing, 66, of La Porte, lost her battle with cancer.  She passed peacefully as she slept at 12:10 am on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at her home with Gary, Jason, Brian and Constance by her side.

Cinda was born on October 27, 1954 in La Porte, IN, to Harland Robert and Racheal Dean (Jones) Harvey.

On August 14 1973 in Salem Heights, Indiana, she married Gary Winston Searing who survives.  Also surviving are her 2 sons, Jason Searing of La Porte and Brian (Constance) Searing of Cape Coral, Florida; 7 grandchildren, Tyler, Dillon, Brandon, Olivia, Emma, Cadence, and Cali Searing; 5 great-grandchildren, Mason, Damion, Alahia, Paisley, and Delilah; sister, Darlene Patrick; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; siblings, Linda, Russell, Jerry, Richard, and Mickey Harvey.

Cinda was a member of First Church of God where she loved to serve the Lord.  For several years, Cinda enjoyed volunteering for Vacation Bible School and working alongside the other ladies in the kitchen to help serve dinners. She loved to read, quilt, and make doll clothes.  Through the years, she made several quilts.  One of her quilts, made during the time she worked at a nursing home, was featured in the National Enquirer.  It had been made out of t-shirts from a resident's husband.

In 2018, while undergoing chemo and radiation for her cancer, Cinda told one of her church friends, "Cancer may take my life. But Jesus has my soul and nothing can change that."

Cinda was a very loving and caring woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt.  She will be missed but never forgotten.  Even though Jesus took you home, we will always love you.

A time of visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021, at the funeral home and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
