Balynda Cornett, 40, of La Porte, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. 

   

Balynda was born in La Porte, IN, on January 11, 1981 to Vickie (Tipton) Wood. 

 

Surviving are her children, Erica (Jacob Lemons) Romo of La Porte, Cristina Romo of La Porte and Aiden Comstock of La Porte; grandchildren, Isaiah and Elias Lemons; mother, Vickie (Walter) Wood of La Porte; 3 sisters, Brenda (Patrick) Dilts of La Porte, Tammy Wood of La Porte, Sarah Carreras "Wood" of La Porte; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

 

Balynda worked as a laborer in shipping and handling.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, going to the beach, being outdoors, and singing along with the radio in the car.  Balynda had a carefree spirit that brightened everyone around her.

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  A Celebration of Life Dinner will follow at Cummings Lodge at Soldiers Memorial Park on Grangemouth Drive in La Porte.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at the funeral home.
