Marcella "Marcey" G. Miller

Marcella “Marcey” G. Miller, 55, of Rolling Prairie, passed away unexpectedly at 4:53 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Community Hospital, Munster.

 

She was born September 7, 1966, in Valparaiso, Indiana. The youngest child of Harold and Martha (Breeden) Hawkins.

 

Over the years she held positions with various retail establishments. Marcey considered her greatest achievement in life to be her time with her family and children. She loved decorating her home and taking care of stray cats and kittens who came her way. Marcey was an excellent craftsperson who made beautiful afghans for friends and families. In recent years, she was unable to engage in activities that she loved most due to ill health.

 

On May 28, 2005, in Porter, Indiana, she married her husband, Jess M. Miller, who preceded her in death recently on September 5, 2021.

 

Also preceding in death were her parents.

 

Her loss is mourned by her children, step children and grandchildren as well as her brothers and sisters who will miss her greatly.

 

Surviving are her children, Johnathan (Andrea) McNally of Chesterton, Timothy (Robyn) McNally of Charleston, SC, Christopher (Shannon) McNally of San Pierre, Greg Miller of South Bend, Justin Miller of La Porte and Caitlin Miller of Muncie; five siblings, David (Mary Jo) Hawkins, Gerald (Margaret) Hawkins, Deborah (Devon) Hart, Phillip Hawkins and Rachel (Randy) Roccia; five grandchildren, Ryan, Carter, Henry and Charles McNally and Roman Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte (219) 362-3100 with Devon Hart officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
