James Yozman

James Yozman, 84, of La Porte, Indiana passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 26, 2021.

 

James was born July 30, 1937, in LaPorte to Anthony and Stella (Gabrunas) Yozman.

James was a 1955 graduate of La Porte High School before proudly serving in the United States Army.  James was stationed at Camp Casey and Camp Hovey in Dongducheon, South Korea in 1961-1962. 

 

James was the owner-operator of Jim’s Auto Repair for many years.  James was known for his incredible skills and problem-solving ability when it came to carburetor and engine repairs.  James' second career was as the chief mechanic at both Beechwood and Legacy Hills Golf Courses.  James was an avid gun enthusiast and a member of the Stillwell Rod and Gun Club. 

 

On December 12, 1959, in La Porte, James married the love of his life Sharon Kay (Peglow) Yozman who survives.  Also, surviving are his sons, Michael (Linda) Yozman of Demotte, IN, Matthew (Amber) Yozman of La Porte, IN, and daughter, Andrea (Terry) Killingbeck of La Porte, IN; grandchildren, Katelyn Luce, Kristen Luce, Dannae Yozman, Daniel Yozman, Chase Yozman, Lorelai Yozman, and Bryce (Andrea) Fox; and great-grandchildren, Connor Fox and Grayden Fox.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Chuck Yozman, Mary Ellen Salisbury, and Gloria Maples; and great-grandson, Ayden.

 

James incredible selfless spirit will be missed by all that knew him.  His legacy of hard work and family will carry on forever. 

 

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2021, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. A time of sharing will begin at 7 p.m. following the visitation.

 

Memorial contributions may be made in James’ honor to Comer Children’s Hospital, 5721 S Maryland Avenue, Chicago, IL 60637.
