Joseph “Joe” A. Hough, 58, of La Porte, passed away unexpectedly at 11:17 a.m., Sunday, August 15, 2021 in his home.

 

He was born June 18, 1963, in La Porte, Indiana, to Allison R. and Juanita Mae (Griffin) Hough.

 

Joe was a retired foundry worker. He enjoyed playing poker with family and was famous at family gatherings for his drink concoction, Alabama Slammers. Joe also enjoyed eating and listening to music. He would give his heart to anyone even to strangers who needed help. His family describes his heart being as big as Texas.

 

On July 12, 2008, in La Porte, Indiana, he married Judy (Samm) Hough, who survives.

 

Also surviving are his four siblings, Terry (Mary Reese) Hough of La Porte, Thomas (Connie Spaulding) Hough of Kingsford Heights, Sherry Hough and Fred Hough both of La Porte; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

 

Preceding in death were his parents; one sister, Marilyn Hough; and one brother, William Hough.

 

Cremation will take place. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
