Rona Smith, 85, of Valparaiso IN, formally of LaPorte passed away Friday, August 13, 2021. 

 

She was born on August 3, 1936, in Winston County, Alabama to the late H.C. and Marylene (Roberts) Cooper.

 

She was also preceded in death by her husband Arzo “Barney” Smith and brother, Gary Cooper.  She was a homemaker.

 

Rona is survived by her children, Teresa Smith of Valparaiso, Donna (Bob deceased) Musgraves of Valparaiso, Diana (Billy deceased) Whitten of Valparaiso, Scott (Kathryn) Smith of Mesa, Arizona, Kenneth “Mic” Smith of Chesterton, Jeffrey (Trish) Smith of New Buffalo, Michigan, James “Jamie” (Darla) Smith of Valparaiso; grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Stevie Ray, Hannah, and Madison; great grandchildren, Allyssa, Nataleigh, Rylleah, Carter, Destinie Hope, Ryan, Dlyan, Fynn, Veryn, and Carly; and a brother, Jack E. Cooper.  

 

Cremation has taken place with Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
