Jeffrey Alan "Moose" LeRoy

Jeffrey Alan “Moose” LeRoy, 54, of La Porte, Indiana passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

 

Jeffrey was born January 19, 1967, in La Porte to Robert and Elizabeth (Reichelt) LeRoy.

 

Jeffrey was a High School Teacher for 26 years serving in the La Porte Community Schools. He had most recently been a Regional Sales Representative with Frito Lay. He served his country in the United States Navy Reserves. He graduated from La Porte High School and held a Master’s in Education from Ball State University. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Church in La Porte, and the Knights of Columbus, St. Michael Council #1542 of La Porte, where he served as Sergeant of Arms. “Moose loved children and coached many teams at St Joe’s, Kesling, and LaPorte High School while a teacher. He will best be remembered for giving his time to help others, always giving more than he expected in return. “

 

Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Elizabeth “Beth” LeRoy of La Porte; a daughter, Grace LeRoy (fiancé, Trevor Campbell) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; a son, David LeRoy (Madison) of Pendleton, Indiana; a granddaughter, Beatrice Elizabeth LeRoy; sisters, Mary Beth Wisler of La Porte, Linda Waters (Michael) of Brownsburg, Indiana; a brother, Bob LeRoy of Mishawaka; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

 

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana, where a Vigil Services will be at 7 p.m.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2021, at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Church, 109 C. Street, La Porte, Indiana. Reverend Nate Edquist will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in La Porte.
