Everett "Nathan" Perry

Everett "Nathan" Perry, 70, of Walkerton, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 at his home. 

   

Nathan was born in Clay County, IN, on August 27, 1950 to Estal P.and Alfreda (McDaniels) Perry. 

 

On December 5, 1975 in La Porte, IN, he married his best friend, Beverly K. Walt, who survives.  Also surviving are his son, Shawn M-P. (Renee) Perry; 4 grandchildren, Henry M. Perry, Charlise L. Perry, Jenny R. Gilmore, and Jessie R. Gilmore; siblings, Forrest "Jim" (Kathy) Perry and Maria E. Withrow; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Paul Perry and Bill Perry; sister, Linda (Wayne) Brownlee; son, James Michael Perry; niece, Kerensa M. MacLeod; and several aunts and uncles.

 

Nathan was a welder and was very proud of the work he did at Alis Chalmers, La Porte; Teledyne, La Porte; and Steel Warehouse, South Bend.  He was a hard worker, both at his employer and at home, where he was a very talented carpenter.  His carpentry skills ranged from kitchens to barns.  Nathan also enjoyed fishing, tending to his yard, and watching John Wayne movies.  Most importantly, Nathan loved the time spent with his family, particularly being entertained by his grandchildren when playing cards together.  

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
