Arthur Frederick Schuck, II

Arthur Frederick Schuck, II, 88, of Rolling Prairie, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Aperion Care Arbors at Michigan City.

 

Arthur was born on February 6, 1933 in Elmhurst, IL, to Arthur Frederick and Cleopha (Bessmer) Schuck.

 

On October 19, 1957, he married the love of his life, Frances Rosemary Jeschke who preceded him in death on September 7, 2014.  Surviving are his children, Art F. (Karyn) Schuck, III of Rolling Prairie and Carol (Mark) Schuck Dillon of Randleman, NC; grandchildren, Haley and August Schuck of Rolling Prairie; sister, Dorothy (Joe) Jones; as well as niece, Patty Jones and nephew, Bill Jones.

 

He was preceded by his parents and his beloved wife, Frances.

 

Arthur lived in Glen Ellyn, Illinois before moving to Rolling Prairie, Indiana in 1941 where he resided until his passing.  In 1955, he graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelors's Degree in AgEcon.  Arthur proudly served in the US Navy.  In 1957, he and his wife were instrumental in developing Sun Acre Fruit Farm, a local orchard that remained in business for over 60 years.  Art was an avid mushroom hunter.  His other interests included hunting, fishing, trap shooting, coin collecting, playing euchre, and feeding the birds, turkeys, cats, and deer that visited his yard.

 

Art was a member for over 50 years in the New Carlisle Masonic Lodge #204, South Bend Consistory, and Orak Shrine.  He was also a member of Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church for several years.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick officiating.  Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Rolling Prairie Cemetery.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021 and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
