Richard Lee Stephansen, 62, of Michigan City, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Silver Birch Assisted Living. 

   

Richard was born on December 25, 1958 to Marvin Stephansen and Verna (Northouse) Noles. 

 

Surviving Richard are his children, Dustin Stephansen of Kingsford Heights, Jason (Patty) Stephansen of La Porte, and Natasha Kuykendall of Kingsford Heights; 13 grandchildren, Arielle Stephansen, Charlette Stephansen, Jaxon Stephansen, Veronica Stephansen, Penelope Stephansen, Morgan Manns, Hailey Manns, Cameron Manns, Chloe Kuykendall, Caleb Kuykendall, Benjamin Kuykendall, Isabella Kuykendall, and Tenlie Kuykendall; siblings, Marvin Stephansen of Dieterich, IL, Trina (Mike) Chambers of La Porte, Kenny Stephansen of La Porte, Mario (Judy) Lopez of La Porte, Mike Lopez, Julie (Allen) Childress of La Porte, and Steve Lopez of La Porte; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his father and sister.

 

Richard delivered newspapers for his occupation.  He enjoyed visiting flea markets, watching NASCAR, and collecting Hot Wheels and sunglasses.  Most importantly, Richard loved spending time with his grandchildren.

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
