Samuel Larry Scalf

Samuel Larry Scalf, 76, of Calvert City, Kentucky, passed away Friday June 4, 2021 in Calvert City, KY.

 

He was born December 14, 1944 in Snohomish, Washington, the son of Samuel Thomas Scalf and Delora Gaynell (Baxley) Scalf.

 

One of Sam's favorite things to do was going fishing. He was known as an excellent woodworker especially when working on a lathe. He enjoyed traveling and camping doing this most of his life. He played bass in a band for many years. He loved cooking for his family and spent time in the garden. His biggest passion was his family especially his grandkid's and great-grandkid's.

 

On April 3rd, 2003, at the First Lutheran Church, he married Pamela Lawrence Scalf who survives.

 

He is also survived by daughter, Terri (Scott) Scalf and his son QuniceScalf; father and mother-in-law Gerald (Maxine) Lawrence, Brother in laws Mike (Kelly) Lawrence and Steve (Theresa) Lawrence; brother Garry (Patti) Scalf; sister Sharon (Virgil) Kunkel; five grandchildren, Samuel (Brittany) Howard, Joseph (Sandi) Howard, Alexandria (Anthony) Tomb, Londyn and Callie Scalf; eight great-grandchildren, Evan, Olivia, Freddie, Leo, Scarlett, Silas, Benji, Rocco.

 

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dudley, Gerald, and Henry; twins as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, June 13 from 1 to 4 PM with a life celebration at the funeral home at 4 PM. Pastor Denny Meyers will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, Indiana.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew by the Lake Lutheran Church 3966 US Hwy 641 N. Benton, KY 42025 or to a charity of your choice. The family request plants to be sent if you would like.

 

It is requested that MASKS are worn respectfully.
