Dennis Leroy Luther, 76, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

 

Dennis was born on January 25, 1945 in La Porte, IN, to Robert and Margaret (Ott) Luther.

 

On April 16, 1966 in La Porte, IN, he married Beverly who survives.  Also surviving are his 4 daughters, Rhonda (Roger) Bell of Knoxville, TN, Tammy (Richard) Peterson of Knoxville, TN, Debbie (Bill) Bonner of New Carlisle, and Diane Saffell of Bremen; 8 grandchildren, Ashton Bell, Dakota (Allie) Peterson, Tanner (Arielle) Peterson, John Bonner, Austen Saffell, Sarrah Bonner, Sam Peterson, and Abby Saffell; 6 great-grandchildren, Felix, Bella, Violet, Kal-el, Kingston, and Lehliana; brother, Dean (Judie) Luther; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Eloise Luther. 

 

Dennis worked as a Police Officer for the Westville Police Department and later as a La Porte County Deputy.  He enjoyed puzzles and woodworking.

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.  A private family service will take place at a later date.
