Lisa M. Usher-Coster, 53, of Portage, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, following a long illness. 

   

Lisa was born in Gary, IN, on December 29, 1967 to Richard and Jacqueline (Haffini) Usher. 

 

Surviving Lisa are her children, Justin (Michelle) Usher of Valparaiso and Brandi Usher of Portage; parents, Richard and Darlene Usher of Valparaiso; grandchildren, Jaidyn, Bonnie, Samantha, Sydney, Lilli, and Jordy; siblings, Kelly and Jason; nephews, Tony, Felix, Ethan, and Peyton; and nieces, Kailey and Chloe.

 

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Paul Usher, and grandmother, Elsie Usher.

 

Lisa enjoyed family and family get togethers.  She enjoyed decorating for the holidays and baking at Christmas time.

 

Lisa took many courses at Sawyer Business College.  She worked at Harley-Davidson and was passionate about her work.  The customers asked for her by name.  Lisa had the personality to charm, had the brightest smile, and was top of the line at customer service.  She also took on a job as a bookkeeper, which was a perfect fit for her as she was meticulous about the details.

 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at a later date.

 

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family c/o Justin Usher, 2900 Monroe St., La Porte, IN  46350.  Donations will be forwarded to the hospice organization that provided care to Lisa.
