Mary Frances Abner, 92, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Monday, May 3, 2021.

 

Mary was born January 2, 1929, in East Chicago to Joseph and Victoria (DeRosa) D’Angelo of Montedecoro, Italy. 

 

On March 8, 1952, in Hammond, Indiana, Mary married Joseph H. Abner who preceded her in death on March 2, 1966. She was the owner-operator of Luigi’s Pizza in La Porte with her late husband. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

 

Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo (Abner) Dennis of La Porte, Indiana; grandchildren, Joseph K. Dennis, Kathleen M. Dennis, and Susan K. Dennis; and great-grandchildren, Dominic J. Hefner, Victoria M. Dennis, William J. Dennis.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Susan Marie Abner, and siblings, Margaret (D’Angelo) Smith, Angela (D’Angelo) Hudson, Josephine M. D’Angelo, Sandra (D’Angelo) Borah, Tony, Frank, Salvatore, Joseph Jr. and Michael D’Angelo.

 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.  A Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana.
